Holidays Austria: Day Two

Good day, dear readers!~

Today I want to report about the second day of my short holidays in Austria! It was a calmer day, so I didn't take that many pictures.

Some impressions from the balcony! We were really lucky with the weather and could breakfast outside~ In general the day turned out as a very sunny one, maybe already a bit too warm... But still beautiful!

In the morning my Mom and me took our bikes and went around the Faak lake. It was very enjoyable to cycle through the nature and to explore the freshness of beginning summer~

Just look at these ^___^ They also had youngsters hidden in the reed~

I was just impressed how blue the water of the lake is... It rather remembered me of southern regions than an alpine lake~

Now to another aspect of Faak village: The inhabitants are crazy about Harley Davidson motorbikes! Every year in September they celebrate a huge event where people from whole Austria and even abroad come to present their Harleys. In general: Everybody who owns a motorbike there owns a Harley, no other brands allowed ^___^

Consequently, they have "tuned" their village with a specific part just for this event: As you can see we have a "borough" called "Harley Davidson Village" with a "Harley Davidson Street", many asphalt fields and parking places and so on~

And in the middle of the place a huge wooden Harley thrones ^___^

...Just a very bad quality-selfie taken in the mirror of our apartment xD

This day we also met with my grandparents: They had spent two weeks of holidays in a village called Feld am See already, and since it is only half an hour away from our apartment we seized the occasion to spent a day with them. At first we showed them the house we were living in, in the afternoon we brought them back to their hotel and took a short walk through the surroundings there. And of course we enjoyed another ice cream ^___^ I forgot to take a photo, but it was a really delicious one called "Mozart ice cream" with vanilla, chocolate and pistachio flavour~

Just some (non-professional) impressions taken out of the car - how green everything is!

Shitty reflections... >___<;

I just laughed so hard about these: Fleurs de Lys on the carpets and even on the bottom of the elevators' doors! xD The hotel where my grandparents lived in was really old-fashioned, but I loved these details ^___^

Also a very nice view out of the window of my grandparents' room: The cemetery. But hey, at least you have quiet neighbours then xD
Feld village is a really calm little collection of houses though... In German you would say, freely translated since it's an idiom: "At 10pm the pedestrian walks are folded up" xD

This is the lake of Feld (please don't ask me how it's called... I have no idea). Also very beautiful and good for taking a swim at hot summer days - unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough for bathing while I spent my holidays there...

Just some photos taken during the drive~

Ahaha, now look at this! There was a really small village, I'd rather say another collection of houses somewhere in the landscape - and it was fittingly called "Äußere Einöde" xD Freely translated this means "Outer wasteland" - very encouraging title, I never would want to live there xD do they already know what electricity is...?

But seriously: The mobile internet connection there was better than at home! Somewhere must have been a radio mast or something...

...And about to leave the "Äußere Einöde" to more civilized regions xD

Mainly that was how I spent my first full day in Austria~

Thank you for reading and see you for the report of Day Three!

Holidays Austria: Day One

Good day, dear readers!~

On Wednesday, 27th May 2015 I spontaneously left home to Klagenfurt by plane for enjoying four days of vacation in Austria at the Faak lake! My parents went there two days before, noticed that their apartment was big enough for three or even four persons, and they invited me to come there for a visit - so, of course I did! ^___^ The flight was booked easily and quickly, and the next day I left in the early morning.

From the train to the airport - the very first step into the world! ^___^

Waiting for boarding...
I had the best place you can have in an airbus A319, in my opinion: 10F (or A) ^___^ you're sitting directly next to the emergency exit and would be the first person getting out of the plane. Many people don't like this place because they would be responsible to open the door... Well, it is so unlikely that you get into the situation of doing so, so I'm staying calm and rather enjoy the huge leg room you have there~
By the way: Have you ever noticed that there is no 13th row in a plane? Superstition is something quite strong...

Just awesome, the advertising on the gate xD the arrow to the plane says 'tomato juice', the one back to the terminal 'pepper'. It's an advertising for car rental... ^___^

Some impressions from the plane~
Have you noticed the top of the mountain breaking through the clouds? At the very first I couldn't distinguish them, but then I was absolutely fascinated since I never have seen such a thing before ^___^

I just love flying! Whether I am over the clouds or can look down on the ground, I enjoy both situations very much~

Here we already can see the Alps!
The runway from afar

Arrived at Klagenfurt! The airport is so small, they don't even have or need a tarmac bus or services: You just walk to the terminal by foot ^___^ It also was the first time I saw an owl man directing the plane to its parking position~
What you also notice at the very first is the clear, fresh air - nothing in comparison with the hot, dry air in my home surroundings... I wish I would have been able to pack it into my backpack and bring it back home~

That's how I arrived in Austria. My parents already waited for me and picked me up with our car, then we drove to our apartment and I unpacked my stuff and so on.

Later the day we decided to do another short trip: We went to Villach, the next bigger city around. Somehow it wasn't that exciting as we thought it would be, we were a bit disappointed... Well, have a look on the pictures yourself - but in general the city was no great adventure or something; just a normal, simple town.

This was a small rose garden. I would spend my evenings here in summer if I would be an inhabitant. Some of them indeed were blooming~
Froggy trash can ^___^

The city museum

The church also wasn't that impressing at all... I love visiting churches in every town, but this one was just a bit unspectacular, too... That's why I didn't take photos inside.

This eagle statue was way more interesting then~
The place in front of the city hall

The other church, the Francisian one, was way more interesting; I liked it much more~

And of course an ice cream mustn't miss! This time I chose apple and coconut, and it was really delicious~

In the evening my parents invited me to a pizzeria. At the very first we weren't really convinced by the outer appearance, but we were positively surprised how good it was!~ The pizzas were the best ones I ever have eaten in a restaurant! It was definitely worth the money, and we enjoyed the evening there. And we also quickly decided to visit it again during these vacations ^___^
My sort was called "Antisklerosa" - with garlic, champignons and ham~ And I had a mango juice which also was very tasty!

After dinner we took a walk outside and watched the "Alpenglow". I was very impressed by it! Just look at this yourself: The light illuminating the mountains is just overwhelming~

A small rivulet that buries its way through the village and the meadows...

Here we can see it again! The deeper the sun sets, the reddisher the colour becomes - a really impressing change that only lasts for about ten minutes... I've watched this every evening during the holidays~

This was how the first day ended. It already was a nice beginning and I was looking forward to the next days~

Thank you for reading and see you soon!
